The face is the portal to the person and their persona.  Painting an image of the face is a means to express and explore the physical and psychological characteristics that make a person unique.  I paint using gouache, acrylic paint, inkjet print, graphite, watercolor, colored pencil, pastel, or charcoal on paper or canvas.  I use cangiante and chiaroscuro to achieve contrast between light and dark areas and the representation of solid forms.
